Cost of Wedding Flowers
You should budget to outlay 8 to 10 percent of your wedding costs for wedding flowers. You can reduce the cost
of your wedding or bridal flowers by only purchasing blooms that are in season, or by ordering bulk wedding flowers
which you will prepare and arrange yourself.
I am suggesting do-it-yourself wedding flowers only if you are helping at the wedding. If you are the bride, or
part of the wedding party itself, you will not have time or energy to take care of the floral arrangements.
If you are a friend of the bride or her family, and you have good experience already with flower arranging,
perhaps in a church or other organisation, then you may be able to manage the D-I-Y wedding flowers by yourself and
produce a fine-quality result.
Making you own wedding floral arrangements can save you hundreds of dollars, but it needs a lot of time to
prepare the blooms. They need to be planned and ordered from the florist's shop months in advance.
You also risk a very embarassing disaster if it turns out that your flower-arranging skills were not as
good as you thought they would be.
