Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers are not as difficult as most people would have you believe. In fact DIY wedding
flowers are perfectly do-able with a few basic skills, and one thing is for sure, it can save a whole lot of money
when it comes to the cost of the wedding.
Wedding flowers are an important part of every wedding ceremony because
flowers have always been symbols of fertility and beauty. They represent hope for the future, continuity for
the family line and, traditionally, the flowers promise a good future for the newly-married couple.
Flowers set the scene for any wedding. The weddding party and guests find themselves surrounded by all this
natural but heavenly beauty. And, at the end of the ceremony, it is wonderful to watch the excitement of the
unmarried women who jostle together to try and catch the bride's bouquet as she throws it to them.
Tradition says that the girl who catches the bride's bouquet will be the next one to find a husband.
For those who can afford it, the simplest way of organizing your wedding flowers is to enlist the services of a
professional wedding co-ordinator or a florist. If you hire a wedding co-ordinator or wedding planner, then they
will be happy to organize the wedding florist on your behalf. It will cost you, of course.
For those who cannot afford to hire professional talent, I still have good news. If you go about the
wedding flowers in s practical manner, it is perfectly possible to do the wedding flowers
yourself.
Doing the wedding flowers yourself is not going to be easy – it is too important to be taken lightly. But it is
certainly possible to do a good job that impresses everyone, as long as you have at least some basic flower
arranging skills and a good eye for co-ordinating colors.
First, you need to know what kind of wedding flowers to select, and you have to make sure that the blooms blend
well with the chosen theme of your wedding. This includes the clothing of all the members of the bridal party and,
in particular, all the bridal party's dresses, the bride's own wedding gown, hair and matching shoes.
You must remember though, that most wedding flowers are seasonal. Thus the wedding flowers available to you in
summer will not be the same as the blooms you can select from in winter or in the fall.
Certainly, there are some wedding blooms you can order at any time of the year for your do it yourself wedding
flowers. These include roses, gardenias, orchids and baby's breath. But do check the prices, as these to change
with the seasons.
Therefore it makes sense to decide on your wedding flowers first. Once you know which colors and hues you will
be focusing on, you can inform the wedding party, and they can order their wedding attire to match.
