How To Choose Wedding Flowers

Delwyn just loves arranging Wedding Flowers. She has an extensive background as a professional florist with more than 35 years experience in all facets of the nursery, horticulture and floriculture industry. She carries on a long family tradition as the third generation of her family in horticulture, cut flower production and floristry. And her speciality, you've guessed it, is Wedding Flowers.

Wedding Flowers by DelwynDel works from her studio in the Kurrajong Village where she runs her specialist wedding flower business, ‘Flowers by Delwyn’ at Kurrajong Village Florist, in the Hawkesbury area west of Sydney. She spends some of her time teaching horticulture and floristry at the Richmond NSW Tafe, and she is a frequent consultant and contributor to industry-related magazines.

Delwyn has been the floral consultant to the Modern Weddings Flowers magazine since the first issue almost 8 years ago and, more recently, flower consultant to Bride to Be Flowers magazine.

To keep abreast of new trends, skills and techniques in the Flower Industry Del frequently attends workshops with leading designers and cut flower growers in Australia and overseas. Delwyn Thomas has been a guest judge at the Bridal Industry Awards at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show and at the 2003 Ellerslie, New Zealand Flower and Garden show.

Yet with running her flower shop, magazine writing and consulting, teaching at the technical college and all, Delwyn still makes time for the work she enjoys the most... selecting and preparing Wedding Flowers. Why? Delwyn loves to see the joy reflected on the faces of the bride and groom. Often they're both so happy with her flowers that they actually cry with joy.

This website has been set up so Delwyn Thomas can pass some of her lifelong knowledge of wedding flowers and the floral business to you. So be sure to add yourself to Del's Wedding Flower newsletter mailing list before you leave, and bookmark this site so you can come back again! (on your computer.)
