Seasonal Availability
Guide
To plan the flowers for any event,
especially flowers for a wedding, you will need to know the
date of the wedding ceremony. That way you have a date to focus
on. And then it is time to find out which wedding flowers are
going to be in season for the bride's special day.
Spring and Summer are the most popular times
for couples to get married and this is when the widest
varieties of flowers are naturally available.
Autumn or Fall is when nature shows some of her
richest colors, and is also a great time for wedding flowers.
Winter, especially in the colder climates, has few natural
flowers available. But flower growers will have plenty of
flowers that have been nurtured in hot-houses to keep the
flower shops well stocked.
And with the convenience of instant
communications right across the world, and fast air freight
services, your wedding florist will always be able to order-in
flowers that are in season someplace else across the world, if
you really have to have them.
Obviously, this is not a cheap option for
wedding flowers, but some people do this anyway. But you
shouldn't have to deal with this problem as long as you book
your wedding florist many months in advance. Six months is the
commonly recommended minimum time period. But some
florists are booked out for a whole year in advance. So, the
sooner you call them in and make your booking, the better your
chances and the better a job they can do for your wedding!
